WHAT IS SPIRITUAL HEALING?

Suggested Reading List for Personal UnfoldmentSpiritual Healing is one of the special phases of mediumship and of Divine Metaphysics which uses the understanding and power of the Natural Universal Laws to impart vital and curative forces to pathological conditions. It is recognized in the New Testament and has been a tenet of both ancient and modern religions.
A human being is made up of three parts: body, mind and spirit. And, it is the energy of the mind which controls the spirit. And, it is the energy of the mind which controls the condition of these parts. Constructive mental thoughts create healthy conditions. Destructive mental thoughts create disease condition. It is a fact, stated in the Bible, that the normal condition of an individual is to be perfect and healthy in body, soul and spirit. This is the condition which God has made available for everyone. Therefore, there is always a limitless supply of Divine Healing Energy to help a person achieve perfect health. This Divine Energy and the Natural Universal Laws which control it are what a Spiritual Healer uses with the direction and guidance of higher spirit forces, to help an individual during a healing. Spiritual Healers work in many different ways, but whichever methods they use, all contain common attributes. The healers enter into their own silence and meditation to raise their consciousness to the spiritual plane, request spiritual direction and guidance, and tap into the limitless storehouse of God-supply. They visualize the person receiving healing and request the cooperation of the unseen forces to direct the healing energy to that individual. The healers also visualize the person in perfect health affirming the presence of infinite intelligence; and giving thanks for an influx of peace, harmony and balance. In addition, the healers mentally direct to the individual instructions to attune their own mental energies along positive and constructive pathways. Although healers can assist an individual by directing healing energies, the success of a healing depends on the faith and desire of the person to use his or her own mental energy positively.
And finally, the individual desiring healing need only attune his or her own mind to Spirit so that the forces can operate successfully.
WHAT IS DESIDERATA

Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.

What is Divine Metaphysics
First Spiritual Church of Bay City is a church that celebrates and practices the religion, philosophy, and science of Divine Metaphysics.
Divine Metaphysics is a Science, Philosophy and Religion which accepts the existence of an infinite intelligence. It practices and teaches the spiritual truths recorded in the Holy Bible and other Sacred Scriptures, and as revealed in the life and teaching of Jesus the Christ and other Holy Avatars of God.
Paramount among the spiritual truths is the fact that life is continuous. The change called death is merely a rebirth into a world of higher vibration. This truth is proven through communication, by means of mental and physical mediumship, with loved ones and teachers who live in the spirit world.
Other truths are contained in the Declaration of Principles as accepted by the United Metaphysical Churches and can be found under the section, “This we believe.”
One of the truths of Divine Metaphysics is to teach these truths pertaining to man’s spiritual and physical welfare. However, the practice and promulgation of these truths do not make Divine Metaphysics a creed because each individual is encouraged to worship God according to the dictates of his or her own conscience.
Some of what Divine Metaphysics teaches and does are contained in the following points:
- Individuals are morally responsible for themselves.
- Man is a threefold being – body, soul and spirit.
- Man is just as much spirit now as he ever will be, except that he is encased in a physical body.
- We reap as we sow and, life being continuous, we carry into the next world all positive and negative actions taken on the earth plane.
- An understanding of God’s Natural Universal Laws teaches an individual how to love, here and hereafter.
- All men are brothers and God is their Father. Therefore, all men are divine because they have the spark of God within them. They all have potentialities of God if they choose to develop them.
- Heaven and hell are states of mental consciousness and not literal abodes.
NOTE: We recommend the George M. Lamsa translation of the Holy Bible which is taken from the ancient Aramaic text. The Metaphysical Church does not accept the Bible as the infallible word of God, but as an inspired collection of stories based upon the spiritual laws of the Universe seeking to help us unfold our own divinity.
